Donate Your Site

Donate dot com, or #donatedotcom, is an initiative to make Japan earthquake and tsunami relief more widespread

The idea is simple: you donate your dot com, i e your site. Instead of showing your regular content, a big red button containing a link to donating to the Red Cross through iTunes is placed over your site, as an overlay. Don’t worry, your regular homepage is still there, just one step removed. Click “Close” and the overlay, well, closes.

To implement it, just cut and paste the code snippet, based on javascript, below.
Paste it anywhere before your closing </head> tag.

<script type=”text/javascript” src=””></script&gt;

Et voila, done. Now spread the word through #donatedotcom on Twitter, or whatever channel you prefer.
If you’ve donated and want to be on the list below, e-mail us at

Once done. this is how your site will look like.
